About the Newbery Award: The Newbery Medal was named for eighteenth-century bookseller John Newbery. It is awarded every year by the American Library Association. The award goes to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. The seals for the Honor Award are silver, and the Newbery Award is gold. Look for the seal on the book’s cover. If you see it, you know that many people think your book choice is a real winner!

"Wringer" by Jerry Spinelli, reviewed by Jaysiah W.
Jaysiah, I think you did a great job on your podcast of "Wringer". I think it was interesting because you really told how the book was. You really explained how the 10 year olds wrung the birds up. If I were to read this book I know that I would like it.
Dear Jaysiah, I read the book Wringer before and you convinsed me to want to read it again. I love how you described the book but didn't give away the ending. I feel you really understood the book and the theme. Good job!
Dear Jaisiah, I enjoyed how you gave detail on what the ten year olds did to the birds. But I have one question would you ever kill the birds if you had a choice? You convinced me to want to read the read the book.
